Toasting

Toast

Toasting browns food lightly using dry heat, great for bread and nuts. Use a toaster or a dry cast iron skillet for even toasting.

Toaster Oven

1. Preparation

• Place the skillet on the stove over medium heat and allow it to warm up for a minute.

• For bread or nuts, no oil is needed; for items like tortillas, a light brushing of oil can help with browning.

2. Cooking

• Add the item to the skillet in a single layer. For bread, press lightly with a spatula for even toasting.

• Flip the item occasionally to ensure both sides are evenly toasted.

• For nuts or seeds, stir frequently to prevent burning and ensure an even color.

3. Finishing

• Remove the item as soon as it reaches the desired level of toastiness.

• Serve immediately or store in an airtight container if not consuming right away.

Cleaning instructions

Step 1: Allow the skillet to cool completely before washing.

Step 2: Wipe the skillet with a dry paper towel to remove crumbs or residues.

Step 3: Wash with warm water and a soft sponge using a mild dish soap. Avoid abrasives to protect the non-stick coating.

Step 4: Rinse thoroughly and dry immediately to prevent water spots.
